DES PTA is: A powerful voice for all children, A relevant resource for families and communities, A strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: Adopt-A-School Drives for Gaithersburg Elementary School Back to School Supplies, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Book Collection and Healthy Snack Drive. ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS: Science Expo, Science All-School and Cultural Arts Assemblies, Mustang Clubs, Group Piano Lessons, Instrumental Music Programs, Science & Engineering Workshops, 5th Grade Colonial Day, 5th Grade Class Trip and Cultural Arts Assemblies. SCHOOL SUPPORT: Contributes substantial funds each year for educational materials for each classroom; books and technology for the media center; and resources for the music program. Supplements the cost of print cartridges for computer printers throughout the school. Coordinates parent volunteers for media center, school office, specialists, and all school events. ADVOCACY: Organizes with Montgomery County, Maryland State and National PTAs to collectively advocate for all school children, starting with your concerns and solutions.
