Who We Are
Volunteers coordinated by the Montgomery County Volunteer Center to help Montgomery County's Health Department and the Office of Community Partnerships spread the word about the importance of getting vaccinated and help community members get vaccinated.
COVID has disproportionately impacted certain communities within Montgomery County. At the same time, these areas where COVID rates are the highest are where vaccination rates are the lowest. Barriers include technology, hesitancy, limited English proficiency, isolation, and disinformation or conflicting messaging. That's why in-person outreach is needed to help residents (particularly in disproportionately affected and underserved communities) get appointments at County Health Clinics.
What Volunteers Do
Volunteers can help by staffing community events such as food distributions throughout the County where residents can most benefit from vaccine-related information and assistance. Volunteers will share vaccination materials, encourage vaccine appointments, make vaccine appointments, and generally interact positively with vulnerable members of the community during this difficult time. We will provide necessary PPE and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Currently, we are not recruiting new volunteers.
