Greater Sandy Spring Green Space, Inc.

The mission of Greater Sandy Spring Green Space is to promote, for the benefit of the general public: the preservation, protection and balanced use of open space and natural resources within eastern Montgomery County and the Patuxent River Watershed. Greater Sandy Spring Green Space, was founded in 1997.

GSSGS acquires, holds, and protects open space easements in northeast Montgomery County by: • Engaging residents at community events. • Informing the community about local and national issues affecting open space. • Informing potential easement holders about the benefits of preserving land. • Working with county planners and local developers to shape land use plans and encourage larger, adjoining plots of green space. • Monitoring our current easements.
