Who We Are

The Damascus Community 4-H Club provides kids with community, mentors, and learning opportunities to develop the skills they need to create positive change in their lives and communities. Kids learn leadership skills while learning new hobbies!

Damascus Community 4-H Club is a part of the Maryland State 4-H programming and national 4-H programming. Our mission is to give ALL youth equal access to opportunity. 4‑H provides kids with community, mentors, and learning opportunities to develop the skills they need to create positive change in their lives and communities.

4-H is a part of the Maryland University Extension program. University programs, activities, and facilities are available to all without regard to race, color, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, age, national origin, political affiliation, physical or mental disability, religion, protected veteran status, genetic information, personal appearance, or any other legally protected class.

What Volunteers Do

Adult volunteers teach children aged 8-18 on various skills such as sewing, woodworking, gardening, baking, computer science, photography, etc. Adult volunteers also teach leadership skills.

Student volunteers look for opportunities to make a difference in the community. They do things like host birthday parties for senior citizens, make meals for homeless people, sew masks, do park cleanups, and provide assistance at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair and Damascus Community Fair.
