Who We Are

Generation Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting teen parents as they get their first college degree. We were founded by Nicole Lynn Lewis, a teen mother who raised her daughter while getting a degree from William and Mary University, and who wanted to help other teen parents complete their own degrees. Our vision is that all teen parents and student parents, and their children, have every opportunity to succeed and are empowered to create a better future for themselves, our community, and our world. Our mission is to ensure all student parents have the opportunities to succeed and experience economic mobility, Generation Hope engages education and policy partners to drive systemic change and provides direct support to teen parents in college as well as their children through holistic, two-generation programming.

What Volunteers Do

Generation Hope has a number of volunteer opportunities available. We operate a tutoring program for our clients that runs entirely on volunteer tutors. We also use Career Support tutors to help our clients prepare for the workforce. Finally, as we return to in-person events, we use volunteers for childcare and event preparation and execution.
