Who We Are

The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) plans and implements activities that seek to increase the city’s affordable housing supply and ensure fair and equitable relations between landlords, tenants, common ownership communities, and their members. HCD offers comprehensive and wraparound social services that include counseling and mental health services, referral services to food supply, mentoring, and other self-sufficiency programming.

What Volunteers Do

THE ROCK-KIDZ Mentoring Program provides supportive opportunities for our young community members by helping them grow, learn and build character. Our trained mentors develop meaningful relationships through one-on-one interactions while leading academic and recreational activities. Our mentors help kids set goals, serve as a knowledge source, foster growth, and much more.

ROCK-KIDZ runs during the school year from October to June, and we meet weekly with our mentees for 1-hour sessions. So little means so much to our kids.

Activities take place in a safe and clean environment. Staff coordinate and monitor different activities.
