Breast Cancer Buddies, INC

Breast Cancer Buddies INC was first started in 2016. Our mission is to match newly diagnosed breast cancer patients with a "mentor" survivor to talk to over the phone, possibly meet up and get advice and emotional support. The patients would then also be matched up with a "buddy" patient that was going through similar treatment. We would meet every 6 months for a social gathering and support group. During COVID we began online monthly virtual support groups for women with breast cancer and survivors. We have continued these groups. We now want to support the families and children of not only breast cancer patients but any cancer patients. We want to create something similar for the children and families, so they feel that they are not alone.

Volunteers help with providing support to cancer patients and their families. We bring comfort bags, art activities and treats to infusion centers for patients undergoing chemotherapy. We plan to fundraise and organize social functions and events for children and families who have a family member affected by cancer.
