Child bedlessness is a national problem, and as a national nonprofit with chapters spread across the country, SHP has provided the solution. We are a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids who are sleeping on the floor. Our motto is "no kid sleeps on the floor in our town."
At SHP Montgomery Village, we work together with community volunteers to build and deliver beds to children sleeping on floors, couches, air mattresses, and other inadequate sleeping conditions. Volunteers ages 10 and up may attend our well-organized, fun, and impactful build days throughout the year (see our website/social media for specific dates) and assist in delivering and assembling beds in the homes of the children. Many other volunteer opportunities are available that involve assisting in communicating with families in need of beds, fundraising, social media, community events, etc. We are regularly seeking monetary donations to fund our builds, and also appreciate donations of new sheets, comforters, pillows, mattresses, and mattress covers for the beds we build.
