Who We Are
A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue was formed when a group of people with decades of experience in animal rescue decided they wanted to make it easier for people to adopt animals and for animals to find their forever homes. AHOTO is different. At AHOTO, we are committed to saving as many dogs and cats as we can while also striving to find the best possible forever homes for each and every dog and cat in our care. We work with applicants to find the right pet for them which, in turn, allows us to find a great fit for that dog or cat. Our commitment to the dogs and cats adopted from us doesn’t end once the adoption contract is signed. We offer education, training, outreach, and the support needed to create a community of happy adopters and their pets.
What Volunteers Do
Foster homeless dogs and cats;
Transport dogs and cats; assist at dog adoption shows; walk dogs housed in kennels; general administrative tasks; fundraising and outreach (e.g., events, grant writing)
