Who We Are

We are a 501 (c) (3) organization that works in enhancing the lives of people of all ages, diverse backgrounds and differing abilities through inclusive opportunities. We believe that every person, regardless of ability, deserves a safe and nurturing home. We have an Early Learning & Early Intervention Center located in Ward 8 of Washington D.C. Additionally, we have an adult day program in Silver Spring, MD, along with various residential houses throughout Montgomery County and PG County, MD.

What Volunteers Do

We will offer volunteer opportunities that support our mission without direct interaction with the people we serve, including garden events and an ongoing need for regular garden volunteers. Volunteers can also help with Power the Palate, assembling and packing nutritious grocery bags to expand access to healthy food. Additional roles include landscaping clean‑up and maintenance needs at our Day Program and residential sites, helping keep our spaces safe and welcoming. We also host donation drives—such as our winter coat/clothing effort—and similar drives for clothes, wellness items, and other essentials.
