Who We Are

Burning Tree Village (BTV) is a Bethesda neighborhood nonprofit aimed at helping seniors and the disabled in our community safely stay in their homes as long as they wish—and to stay stimulated and socially engaged. BTV achieves this by providing direct volunteer service for households with various needs, including rides for medical appointments and "coaching" for technology newbies. In addition, BTV offers intergenerational educational and social programs that engage a wide range of neighbors, from seniors to students—and everyone in between. By engaging all residents in these activities, BTV enhances the quality of life of the entire community.

What Volunteers Do

As a volunteer-run organization, BTV relies on volunteers for every aspect of our village's service.

Students can help with setup, cleanup, and service at community events such as our annual Memorial Day gathering and Fourth of July parade. They may also volunteer for special projects like neighborhood park cleanups or intergenerational conversations (held in public locations).

Adults can help with these same events as well as by providing rides to medical appointments, leading fun interest groups, hosting summer get-togethers, providing tech coaching, serving on our board of directors, and more.
