What Volunteers Do
Capitol Area Telugu Society (CATS) is a non-profit organization devoted to the awareness and promotion of Telugu culture in the Washington D.C. Metro Area. It has been granted a non-profit organization status by Department of Treasury and Formed in 2005, it intends to be the best amongst the Indo-American organizations. CATS will be active and contribute back to communities we live in through Volunteering and Charitable activities Professional Development Business Development Participation in the local, regional, and national social, cultural, and sports activities Also, CATS is bringing forth a novel idea by providing a platform to anyone in the community to bring forward a new idea in the interest of the community to be fully developed into a project (a small idea or a big one). This allows the organization to be very open by serving as an incubator for great ideas. Finally, CATS is an innovator when it comes to new ideas and is designed to be the next-generation type of organization. For example, there is strong emphasis to include our youth in the operational aspects of the organization.
