Who We Are
The Damascus Heritage Society was formed to be the curator of Damascus Maryland history and to tell unique agricultural, educational, economic, social, and spiritual history of the community. Its aim is to preserve the stories, customs, rituals, artifacts and landmarks of Damascus life. It also serves as an exhibit center, dedicated to the collection, preservation and maintenance of historical artifacts. It also serves as an educational resource for schools, providing a link between the children who are creating history today and their community's heritage.
What Volunteers Do
The Damascus Heritage Society maintains a small museum on the grounds of the Damascus Public Library/Senior Center. The museum is temporarily closed due to the renovation of the Library/Senior Center and the upcoming expansion of the museum. We will reopen when the Library/Senior Center reopens. open
