Who We Are
Camp Levine is an engaging and fun-filled experience for children of all musical backgrounds and levels of ability!
Each summer, a different theme is used as a focus to actively learn music, dance, stories, games and arts from various cultures with curriculum developed by camp faculty and directors. From the daily all camp Morning Sings to the final concert, campers learn new skills, gain confidence and create lasting friendships - all while enjoying the bliss of summer.
Camp Levine is part of Levine Music, the Washington DC region’s preeminent center for music education, a welcoming community where children and adults find lifelong inspiration and joy through learning, performing, listening to, and participating with others in music. Levine’s core values; excellence and opportunity, infuse everything we do. Our distinguished faculty offers a broad and well-rounded curriculum that provides a strong musical foundation for students of different ages, abilities, and interests. We strive to make Levine education available to everyone. Hundreds of our students receive substantial scholarship assistance; many hundreds more receive free instruction through outreach programs.
What Volunteers Do
The Teen Apprentice Program consists of responsible, mature and enthusiastic junior high and high school students who assist groups of campers, support teachers in the classroom, learn effective techniques for working with children, and put their love of music and arts to use.
You do not need to have been a camper or a musician to be a Teen Apprentice.
If you like music, dance, art or theatre, want to be a role model for young children and are interested in hands-on learning by assisting faculty & staff, Camp Levine is a perfect way for you to spend your summer. You’ll get to:
- Share your love of music and the arts and expand your knowledge.
- Work with excellent teachers, help plan lessons, and assist in teaching.
- Develop leadership skills through training and practical experience.
- Learn effective techniques for working with children.
- Collaborate with peers, administrative staff, teachers and campers.
- Meet your school’s Social Service Learning (SSL) requirements.
- Earn an incredible experience to add to a resume or college application.
