Who We Are

Rukundo International (RI) is a community service organization formed to provide improved educational opportunities, community-based support, and hope to orphans and other underprivileged and at-risk children and their extended families in Kabale, Uganda. RI is currently working on various clean water initiatives and secondary school sponsorships while entering the building phase of their Community Center in Kabale.

What Volunteers Do

Rukundo International (RI) is dedicated to fostering global awareness between students in the United States and children in East Africa. Our programs provide an opportunity for individuals to authentically learn about new cultures and develop meaningful relationships with those outside their community. Through education, outreach and advocacy, RI delivers links that form partnerships for development and global understanding of each individual's role in our interconnected and shared world.

In order to use the majority of our donations for programs and resources, we rely on a team of dedicated volunteers who give their time and talents to help Rukundo succeed. We are always looking for more volunteers to expand our capabilities and grow our organization. We need people like you!

You can find a list of our current openings on Volunteer Match below. If you don’t see something that is an exact match for your skills, please reach out. We welcome everyone who wants to make a difference.

Some areas where we can always use help are social media, clerical work, spreadsheets, website maintenance, writing, editing, and fundraising, among others.
