Who We Are
Our mission in to provide high quality comprehensive services to all children. We utilize a curriculum that focuses on academic skills, social and physical development. Our goal is to instill joy and excitement in the learning process and help children reach their individual goals. We provide an environment that inspire curiosity, encourages problem-solving and nurtures collaboration.
What Volunteers Do
At Maryland Child Services Inc. Centers, our program and academic curriculum are founded on our philosophy of nurturing well-rounded, balanced individuals. We integrate age appropriate academic, creative, social and physical activities throughout the day. We recognize that each child is unique, and our program has built in flexibility to address each child's strengths and weaknesses, as we prepare them for kindergarten. We daily explore new subjects, work on art and music projects, examine the world about us. We believe pre-school will have a profound effect on the social well-being of the child for years to come. For this reason, we emphasize social activities such as eating together, collaborating and problem-solving on projects in groups and outdoor play time.
While volunteering at our center, some of your duties will be aiding teachers with projects and gathering materials, reading books to the children, helping the staff to keep a clean and safe environment for every one while outdoors and indoors, setting up tables for snacks as well as passing them out, and helping children with their homework and school projects.
