Organized in 1963, The Gem, Lapidary, and Mineral Society of Montgomery County MD, Inc. We are a 501-C-3 non-profit educational organization. Members represent a broad cross section of adults, juniors, and families with all levels of experience. Sharing this common interest, they enjoy the fun of collecting, studying, identifying, displaying, cutting, polishing, faceting and more. Don't need to have a degree in Earth Sciences or Geology. Over 150 adults and 50 juniors are affiliated with us, The Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies and The American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
