We Refuse Abuse Inc., a 501c3 (We Refuse Abuse Magazine)

This Organization was founded by Lilian Agwu (Ibeh), a survivor of domestic violence, who was seeking a way to help others experiencing the pain and hardship she endured. We are a volunteer driven Organization, and we consistently create community awareness against domestic abuse in Montgomery County,Maryland and on social media around the USA. We are based in Rockville,Maryland. We have received a Proclamation from the City of Rockville,who have shown appreciation for our efforts to make a difference. Our goal is to inform, inspire and empower -- we want to educate the public about this critical issue that impacts millions of people around the world, and help victims to become survivors. In addition to providing an extensive list of local and national resources to refer victims who are afraid to seek help, to the Montgomery County crisis center (abuse hotlines, contact info for shelters, etc.), we have new features on social media and opinion pieces on topics like teen dating violence and the impact of domestic violence on children who witness it at home (called vicarious abuse)Domestic violence that impacted a young child can develop into mental illness.
