

Who We Are
FCBCC holds a number of events throughout the year co-sponsored by the Clara Barton Recreation Center and the Montgomery County Recreation Department. Such events raise money for the other events and to help support the center and the community. Such events are Family Bingo, Grateful Shred, Haunted House, Holiday Craft Show, and other one time events. FCBCC is responsible for promoting the event, finding volunteers, and seeing the event through.
What Volunteers Do
FCBCC assists the Clara Barton Neighborhood Community Center in designing and implementing programs for all ages with events scheduled throughout the year. We supplement the budget with fundraising events, act as a liason to the community, and monitor the management of the center's facilities to ensure proper maintenance or expansion is consistent with FCBCC's objectives. Our main event for SSL volunteers is to set up, run and break down the Haunted House at the Clara Barton Community Center. SSL volunteers help at other events like the Family BINGO and Craft Show to set up for the event and run different parts like serving food, helping seat guests, and engaging with the community to enjoy the center activity. We recruit volunteers by sending a signupgenius to the middle school community announcement listserve as well as through the local community listservs when appropriate.
