Sandy Spring Athletic Association

The Sandy Spring Athletic Association's mission is to promote, supervise, and voluntarily assist in providing a safe and secure recreational athletic environment for young people. Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership we will promote programs that emphasize physical and emotional development, build self-esteem and cultivate a lifelong interest in sports, health and teamwork by espousing the virtues of character, integrity, and sportsmanship. We are dedicated to the all-around development of young people and will encourage them to be better people, not just better athletes. It is the goal of SSAA to provide a safe and supportive environment to encourage physical and emotional growth, where children can enjoy learning to play organized sports. Equally as important, the program challenges the young athletes to work hard, develop teamwork & sportsmanship skills. Our program stresses discipline, self-esteem, and respect for others. SSAA accepts children regardless of race, creed, athletic ability or income level. Our close supervision, safe exercises and drills are provided to ensure that all kids are physically and mentally prepared for competitive athletics. Each child is unique and develops at their own pace. We will exercise their bodies and minds in an effort to develop the skills needed in sports and in life.

The Sandy Spring Athletic Association, Inc., is a non-profit youth sports association serving the greater Ashton-Sandy Spring-Olney region of Montgomery County Maryland. We offer youth football, lacrosse, baseball and t-ball. Examples of volunteer opportunities within the Sandy Spring Athletic Association include assisting coaches during practices and games, assisting with distribution and collection of equipment, assisting with fundraising events (i.e. setting up and cleaning up at event venues, working at booths selling spirit wear), representing the association by wearing our Falcon mascot costume to games and events.
