TAAGWC is a local chapter of the national organization known as the Taiwanese Association of America (TAA) Inc., a New York corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Services, as a 501(c)(3) organization. Pursuant to the bylaws of the TAA, this chapter has full sovereignty to govern its affairs, to the extent consistent with the purposes and operation of the TAA.
The Association’s objectives are to enhance the Taiwanese cultural heritage among the members; to promote and facilitate intercultural understanding of Taiwanese culture in the community in the United States; to engage in cultural, educational, social, and charitable activities; and to provide mutual assistance and cooperation among the members. TAAGWC provides volunteer activities for student volunteers complete with us; like as July 4th Independence Parade in Washington DC, the Yearly Taiwan Bubble Tea Festival, and the Taiwanese traditional "Taiwan Yes Night Market".
