Volunteer: Donation Driver: Silver Spring to Ward 8 DCGot some free time? Spend it driving critical items to our community! Help Community of Hope get diapers to families in our Housing and Maternal and Child Health Programs! We need drivers to pick up our diaper donations from the DC Diaper Bank in Silver Spring, MD, and deliver them to our Conway Health and Resource Center in Ward 8/Southwest DC. This opportunity takes place on the second or third Thursday of each month, usually between 10 am and 1 pm. There is also time for sorting diapers after delivery. This is perfect for volunteers with a flexible daytime schedule who have a valid driver's license and car, minivan, SUV, etc. Volunteers should also have the physical ability to pick up and move boxes or trash bags full of diaper packs. Volunteer: Fam-Club At The TriumphSupport families overcoming homelessness and give back to your local community! This opportunity provides a meaningful way for volunteers to make a difference in the lives of young people and their families experiencing homelessness. Help lead fun activities during Fam-Club with the residents at The Triumph on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday nights! The Triumph is our short-term family housing site in Ward 8, Washington, DC. Fam-Club Volunteers will: Facilitate activities including arts & crafts, games, and playtime for residents of all ages. Help with setup and cleanup of Fam-Club activity room. We welcome individuals as well as community, school, and corporate groups to volunteer. Fam-Club can accommodate individuals or groups of up to 4 people. Please sign up here ***All volunteers must be at least 14 years old and have been vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19. All group members must register individually. Volunteers are not required to attend a separate volunteer orientation to participate in this opportunity.***
