Volunteer: 2026 Egg Hunt! - Volunteers Needed!Come help out for our Annual Egg Hunt! This is a family-friendly, outdoor event. Families will come to enjoy live entertainment including a DJ, face painters, and balloon twisters, in addition to popcorn, touch-a-truck, photos with Mr. Bunny! Volunteers will help with set-up and break-down of the event as well as basic field monitoring and facilitating crafts/games. Arrival time is 8:30am with an anticipated end time of 1:30pm. Volunteers will meet at the Takoma Park Community Center (7500 Maple Avenue, Takoma Park, MD 20912), in the Azalea Room for check-in. Volunteer vests, badges, refreshments, and periodic breaks will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers must complete the Volunteer Assignment Form in order to confirm their attendance, time slot of availability, and indicate their preferred station. This popular annual event is held rain or shine and will take place this year on Sunday, April 12th, 2026. Volunteers are needed to support a number of activities, including set-up, breakdown, partner outreach booth support, children's activities support, bike activities support, EV showcase support, and more. This event will be held in 2 location nodes; the Sligo Creek Stream Valley Park and the Takoma Park Silver Spring Co-op. More detailed information will be available on the City's website: https://takomaparkmd.gov/1950/Earth-Month-in-Takoma-Park All volunteers will be requested to attend a mandatory in-person training at the City's Public Work Office ahead of the event, where node location and activities will be assigned. The trainings will be held on: -Tuesday, March 31st, 2026 from 6:30pm-8:00pm OR -Wednesday, April 8th, 2026 from 6:30-8:00pm Further details will be sent upon registration. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and those working shifts of 3 hours or more will be provided lunch at the event. SSL hours are available for this event.
