Volunteer: 50+ JCA Interages: Maryvale Elementary After School Help with Homework and Fun Activities

JCA Interages has provided meaningful intergenerational programs for more than 30 years.  Our volunteer opportunities for those 50+ take place in Montgomery County Public Schools, MCPL libraries, and other organizations.

We are seeking volunteers aged 50+ to help children k-5 with homework and fun learning activities afterschool.  In partnership with Maryvale Elementary and Linkages to Learning 1010 1st Street Rockville, MD 20850 Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Choose reading, writing, and/or math. Assist with homework and other fun activities. Two days/week preferred. Grades: K-5.

Background check and application required for volunteering.

JCA Interages has provided meaningful intergenerational programs for more than 30 years.  Our volunteer opportunities for those 50+ take place in Montgomery County Public Schools, MCPL libraries, and other organizations.  

We are seeking volunteers aged 50+ for our Glen Haven Elementary School Readers Theater program.  Volunteers help small groups of students prepare for theatrical readings that will be performed before younger students in their school.  These sessions help students improve their reading and vocabulary, while also having fun.

We have the following schedule for the Readers Theater Program:  Where: Glen Haven Elementary School  When: Wednesdays Time: 10:45 am - 11:15 am (4th grade)  11:20 am - 11:50 am (5th grade) The first day of the program will be on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 @ 10:30am for a quick training, program refresher, and selection of books.
