Drivers deliver 5 to 11 sets of meals (one box lunch and one frozen dinner) to homes and apartments on one of 6 routes in Chevy Chase, Bethesda and Potomac. Each route takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours, starting between 9 and 9:30 in the morning. Volunteers sign up for one day a week, generally for the same day and same route each week. Our volunteers work individually and also in teams of two--one driving and one delivering to the door. Deliveries are only on weekdays, and exclude some holidays.
Our volunteers personally deliver meals to the persons who need them, and they find this work extremely rewarding.
