The unique aspect of this tournament is that it is a “Future Champions Series” event, aimed at newer, novice, and intermediate level wrestlers.
The MSWA hopes to attract between 150 and 250 wrestlers, both boys and girls, from Maryland and the surrounding states for this tournament.
The MSWA will hold a “girls only” division tournament, as well as five other age and weight related competitions on December 11.
The tournament runs from 9AM until approximately 5PM. I anticipate an hour on each end for setup and tear down.
The specific assistance that may be need for the tournament would be:
- Logistics
- Table workers at each of the 4 wrestling mats
- Timer
- Assistant Timer
- Scorekeeper
- Assistance to the AGSA Concessions team
- A simplex radio net
- Volunteer coordination
- Administrative runners for wrestling operations
***Just in time training will be given for all positions prior to the tournament start and when new volunteers arrive***
Other important information:
- Food and soft drinks will be provided for all who help us with this effort.
- Duty shifts could be arranged for those who are unable to stay for the whole tournament.
If a club or individuals might have interest and availability on December 11 to help my AGSA team and I conduct a successful wrestling tournament, I would be happy to host a Zoom call to go over specifics.
