Touch4Life has received a large grant to distribute fresh fruit and vegetables to the community as part of its B-FRESH™ initiative. B-FRESH™ is an innovative way for Black and Brown women and their families to enhance and stay healthy throughout a breast cancer journey and beyond. Regarding the grant, by the end of 2025, Touch4Life will have (i) identified, engaged, and established 5 community partners and 5 provider partners and (ii) distributed free and fresh produce to community members at 45 different events.
Touch4Life needs volunteers to pick up food from the grower partners (farmers and growers) and drop off the food to the community partners (clinical sites) participating in the program. The partners are listed below. Ideally, the distributions will take place on a bi-weekly basis the 2nd and 4th Fridays and Saturdays of July, August, and September.
Volunteers will need to:
- Be able to lift and carry grocery bags that weigh approximately 25 pounds
- Have a valid driver's license
- Have access to a personal vehicle
- Have the required insurance coverage on the vehicle that they will use to pick up and deliver food
