Lakay Assisted Living is seeking compassionate and enthusiastic volunteers to help enrich the lives of older adults in our warm, home-like residential community. Volunteers will assist with recreational activities, social engagement, and occasional mealtime support while building meaningful relationships with our residents.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Assist with games such as bingo, cards, puzzles, and trivia
- Lead or participate in arts and crafts activities
- Read books, newspapers, or stories with residents
- Assist with gardening and outdoor activities
- Help residents with technology, music, and special projects
- Participate in holiday celebrations and themed events
- Provide friendly conversation and companionship
- Assist staff with setting up, serving, and clearing meals on occasion
- Help decorate for special events and resident celebrations
Qualifications:
- Friendly, patient, and respectful attitude toward older adults
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to communicate effectively with seniors
- No prior experience required; training will be provided

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours in a public space under direct supervision of the nonprofit organization. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
