Volunteers are needed for our DC Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Friday, October 25, 2024 and on walk day on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

The following volunteer opportunities are available:
Making Strides of Washington DC Day of Event Volunteer Duties
1. Pre-set up : Friday, October 25th 6pm to 8pm
2. Registration Tent – All volunteer opportunities below ae on October 26th
a. Responsibilities: Take donation envelopes, help people with the QR Code
b. Able to participate in walk
c. Shift time: 7:30 am – 10:30 am
3. Refreshment Tent
a. Responsibilities: Hand out water, granola bars, and fruit before and after the walk
b. Not able to participate in walk
c. Shift time: 7:30 am – 10 am
4. Ribbon Wall Volunteer
a. Responsibilities: Help people write the names on their ribbon and tie them on the Wall of Hope
b. Not able to participate in walk
c. Shift time: 8 am – 11 am
5. Water Station
a. Responsibilities: Handing out water at the water stations along walk route, cheering walk participants on. See walk route for water station placement.
b. Not able to participate in walk
c. Shift time: 8 am – 11 am – Leave for water stations at 8:30!
6. Survivor Tent
a. Responsibilities: Handing out Survivor Shirts and donuts / bagels at the Survivor Tent
b. Able to participate in walk
c. Shift time: 8 am – 11 am
7. Post Walk Break-Down
a. Responsibilities: Help break down the event after walk participants leave (includes various tasks such as taking down all decorations, putting all event items back into boxes, loading moving truck, etc.)
b. Able to participate in the walk
c. Shift time: 11 am – 1 pm
