Saturday June 15, 2019 Montgomery County will host a major Caregiver Outreach Community Event
Time: 10.30am - 4pm (volunteer hours 9am-4pm)
Location: Silver Spring Civic Building, downtown Silver Spring.
Highlights of the event include:
- Engaging conversations that introduce family unpaid caregivers to local networks, practical education and care opportunities.
- Unique caregiver supports available for the County's Hispanic/Latino/Asian American Health Initiatives and other diverse communities.
- Information Fair featuring (free or low cost) resources available for family caregivers.
- Listening session so caregivers can share their challenges and needs associated with caring for a loved-on at home.
Seeking 2-5 volunteers:
On Sat June 15, 9am-4pm "day-of-event" coordination of resource tables, speakers and general flow of program.
Volunteer Skills:
- Good planning and communication
- Experience with community events
- Comfortable in large groups and coordinating simultaneous logistics
Day of Event, volunteers may assist with:
- Greet and direct staff with resource tables
- Assist facilitators and other presenters
- Help manage the presentation timelines
- Assist with tasks to ensure a successful flow of event: welcome and guide attendees to workshops, distribute printed schedule, maintaining supplies of bottled water and fresh fruit snacks.
