Join Rockville Weed Warrior Leaders for a non-native, invasive plant removal workday. Space is limited. Online registration through Montgomery Volunteer Center and waiver submission must be completed prior to the workday. Volunteers under 14 and under must always be accompanied by a responsible adult. Volunteers under 16 are not permitted to use tools. The group will be meeting in the parking lot in front of the Thomas Farm Community Center at 700 Fallsgrove Dr, Rockville, MD 20850. Special COVID-19 Guidelines:
- Volunteers must supply and wear a face covering and practice physical distancing of at least 6 feet from others. Face coverings may be removed while working outdoors and maintaining physical distancing of at least 6 feet from others.
- Volunteer must avoid sharing supplies
- Registered volunteers must sign and email the attached waiver form to greenvolunteer@rockvillemd.gov prior to the event.
What to Wear and Bring: Wear long pants that cover your ankles, long sleeves, and sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Bring plenty of water to drink and gloves, pruners, and loppers if you have them. Gloves and tools are available to borrow if you don’t have your own. No power tools or machetes allowed.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
