Do you prefer volunteering flexible hours behind the scenes, value attention to detail and wish to make a meaningful impact on the integrity of the data collected for the purpose of social justice?
Court Watch Montgomery monitors civil protective order hearings and criminal domestic violence cases to help victims of intimate partner violence get justice in the court system to stop the abuse. The foundation of our data is observational research collected by court monitors. Data entry is a crucial step in ensuring we are able to analyze and provide recommendations to make systemic changes to improve how courts handle domestic violence cases. We share the analysis of this data with judges and court personnel to make the court system safer and more accessible to victims.
Requirements for Data Entry:
- Experience with Google Drive, downloading files, and using a split screen
- Familiarity with Zoom or Google Meet for online training and knowledge of how to use features such as screen share
- Ability to work from home 4 -8 flexible hours every two weeks on an ongoing basis for a year.
- Attention to detail and ability to enter data with a high degree of accuracy
- Willing to review and refer to provided Guidelines/Instructions when entering data
Individual Training is provided at your convenience. (Data entry volunteers are also encouraged to observe domestic violence court with a volunteer monitor to better understand the context of what they are entering into a spreadsheet but it is not required.)
