Teens ages 12-18 are invited to join us for a morning of volunteering with our close partner organization DC Central Kitchen, which uses volunteer help to transform 3,000 pounds of otherwise wasted food into 5,000 healthy meals for schools, homeless shelters, and social service agencies. Volunteers will work in their professional kitchen to chop vegetables, sort fresh produce, mix salads, portion meals, and more!
There is limited space for this program and registration is required for participation.
RSVP Here: https://www.edcjcc.org/calendar/teen-volunteer-project-dc-central-kitchen-5/
As DC Central Kitchen relies on a specific number of volunteers to be able to produce the meals they need, we ask that you only register if you are committed to showing up to volunteer on this day.
Teens who participate are eligible to earn 3 SSL hours.
Transportation will be provided to DC Central Kitchen from the JCC. Please arrive to the JCC by 8:15 AM so we have adequate time to get to the volunteer location.
Once registration is full, please contact Lyssa to be added to the waitlist. If you have any questions, please contact Lyssa at ajellenik@edcjcc.org.
