MCPL Reading Buddies Facilitators needed
From July 6 – August 6, four Montgomery County libraries will host a special intergenerational reading program where adults 50+ will read with children—fostering a love of books and building meaningful connections.
We’re looking for enthusiastic college students/young adults to join our team and help make this program a success! As a volunteer, you’ll:
- Help find appropriate books for reading sessions
- Invite families in the library to participate
- Take attendance and assist with logistics
- Answer general questions
- Days, times, and locations are as follows:
Mondays 2-3:30pm at the Rockville Library
Tuesdays 4-5:30pm at White Oak Library
Wednesdays 3-4:30pm at Gaithersburg Library
6 SSL hours are available.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours in a public space under direct supervision of the nonprofit organization. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
