Earn SSL hours by student volunteering at the JCA Walk for the Ages
Activities take place on Sunday, September 8, 2019
Volunteers are needed from 8:15 AM– 12:30PM (program runs from 8:30 to 12:00)
at Glen Echo Park (7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo)
Volunteers may earn up to 4 SSL hours for helping out with one of the following.
Arts & Crafts Table - Student volunteers needed to assist pre-school and elementary age students with their projects. Picnic tables at Glen Echo Pak will have clothes, markers, crayons, dot-to-dots, word finds, coloring pages, face/arm stick on tattoos, etc. (2-3 students needed)
Selfie Photo Booth -Student volunteers will need to man table and assist with the props for participants to take selfie pictures. (2-3 students needed)
Photo Scavenger Hunt Table - Student volunteers will man tables, hand out photo scavenger hunt sheets (describing what participant/teams need to find and reminding participants that they need to take photos of the items). As participants/teams return to the Photo Scavenger Hunt Table, student volunteers will review sheets and award prizes. Prizes TBD (2-4 Volunteers needed)
Large Games includes 4’ Connect Four Games and Corn Hole Game - Student volunteers needed to monitor those participating in games and make sure the bean bags for the corn hole game remain with the game. (2-4 Volunteers needed)
Playground Monitors – Student volunteers needed to monitor children on the playground, making sure they are not running, pushing, etc. Parents may not leave children alone in the playground area. Student Volunteers are they are NOT required to babysit. (2-4 Volunteers needed)
