Another exciting opportunity to help our homeless neighbors: We partner with Community Food Rescue, a division of Manna Foods, a local food recovery nonprofit to cook some great meals for the clients of the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless. Manna will supply the raw ingredients (reducing food waste in our County!); Silver Spring United Methodist Church (SSUMC) will supply the kitchen, and KindWorks will supply the volunteers. Volunteers are needed on the Tuesdays and Saturdays of each month from 10am-1pm in Silver Spring. No professional cooking experience is required: reliability and attitude is everything!
Follow this link: Come Cook Recovered Food With Us to learn more and to sign up! and please note: each volunteer who wants to help that evening should register separately! There are a limited number of spots for each dinner project! Thanks!
