Bake any type of hearty casserole, packaged and frozen in individual servings, for those served by MoCo Reconnect Drop-in Center in Silver Spring.
Before you sign up, please be sure that you can make the drop-off on Wednesday, August 21st (anytime between 10am and 5pm) at the MoCo Reconnect Drop-In Center (11319 Elkin St. Silver Spring, 20902)
THE PLAN:
- Select a casserole recipe from our recipe library or deliver any type of nutritious casserole you wish to make. Whatever you make, be sure to note any allergens in your ingredients on the label (details below).
- MAKE 4 single casserole servings
- FREEZE your meals. Label each container with: date, your first name and last initial, what you made, and mark it with any relevant food info including common allergens or preferences. (Use the template to print KindWorks labels off your own printer – 6 to a page labels needed for this template).
- DELIVER the frozen servings to the MoCo Reconnect Drop-In Center (11319 Elkin St. Silver Spring, 20902)

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety and privacy at any time the student is interacting with the nonprofit and its clients. The nonprofit organization will determine the number of SSL hours awarded based on the evidence submitted. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns. This service activity is designed to be completed within the safety of the student’s home.
