MCPS 2023 YOUTH CLIMATE SUMMIT

Montgomery County Public Schools and students from across the District are hosting its annual Youth Climate Summit on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 8:30 am to 3:35 pm at Tilden Middle School. Details about the event, including student and mentor interest forms, are available on the event website. 

The goal is for middle and high school students to learn about climate change on a personal level through plenary speakers and workshops that demonstrate actionable ways to engage in the climate movement.

The Summit will conclude with participants being mentored through the process of writing a climate action plan; a project outline they can implement in their school or community. 

Centralized transportation will be available, and lunch will be provided. Students will earn SSL hours for their participation. Transportation hubs will be Seneca Valley HS, Blair HS and Paint Branch HS.
