Blanket Making for Children in Hospitals

Expired

Description

The agricultural extension office where MCAFCE meets for blanket making has been closed to the public because of COVID-19. In-person blanket-making sessions are cancelled until 2021. However, blankets can be made at home and delivered to 18410 Muncaster Road, Derwood between 10am and 12 noon on the dates listed. Look for our tables in the parking lot. Hope to see you there!

Do you like to sew, knit, or crochet? Work on community projects with a congenial group? Volunteers are invited to help make afghans and quilts as gifts for hospitalized children (yarn and fabric provided). In non-pandemic times, monthly meetings are on the grounds of the Montgomery County Agricultural History Farm Park, in the University of Maryland Extension Office, 18410 Muncaster Road, Derwood, MD 20855.

This project is sponsored by the Montgomery County Association for Family & Community Education. It is a great opportunity for those who like to work with their hands with fiber.

For more information and directions, please contact Jean at 301-641-4878 or jcpurich@cs.com. BE SURE TO INDICATE IF YOU ARE A STUDENT. It is helpful if you already know how to sew, knit, or crochet. If you don't, that's all right too.
