Make good use of magazines you have at home and repurpose them into coasters! This is a wonderful project hosted by the Montgomery County Department of Environment Protection.
PROJECT DIRECTIONS
- Respond to this opportunity;
- View and follow the step-by-step instructions;
- Drop off your completed coasters at the Upcounty Consolidation Hub (12900 Middlebrook Road Germantown, MD 20874) between January 17 - January 21. Please follow signage onsite for drop-off instructions.
Drop off Hours:
January 17 - 20: 9 AM - 5 PM
January 21: 11 AM - 4 PM
SSL: MCPS students will receive 1 SSL hour for completing and returning 2 coasters. Students may not exceed credit for 10 coasters (or 5 SSL hours).
When you drop off your project, all volunteers will be required to fill out an online with your name, email address, and project(s) you're dropping off. If you are requesting SSL hours, you'll receive a signed SSL form at drop-off.
By responding to this opportunity, you are pledging to continue to complete acts of service in the spirit of Dr. King.
Coasters will be donated to the following organization in Montgomery County:
- Clifton Park Baptist Church
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
