The Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer Volunteer to support our marketing, outreach, and educational initiatives. This volunteer role will help elevate our online presence, expand our visual brand, and ensure that residents receive clear, accessible, and engaging information on consumer protection.
Task Description
• Design branding elements that support OCP’s outreach and communication efforts.
• Create posters, flyers, brochures, and other print and digital materials for events and campaigns.
• Develop graphics for social media, web content, and long-term campaigns.
• Produce infographics that simplify complex consumer topics.
• Design layouts for newsletters and other recurring publications.
• Create and edit short-form videos for social media and educational outreach.
• Edit and enhance photos for use across platforms.
• Develop PowerPoint templates and assist in creating polished presentations.
• Collaborate with OCP staff to brainstorm creative, impactful campaigns.
Skills Needed
• Strong sense of digital and visual design.
• Excellent graphic design skills with a thoughtful eye for layout, color, and accessibility.
• Experience with Canva, Adobe InDesign, or other preferred design tools.
• Video editing experience (short-form content ideal).
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on tasks.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• 1-2 years of related design experience (professional, academic, or portfolio-based).
