Donated bikes will be prepared to ship to a specific village in Sierra Leone. This village suffered tremendous losses from an Ebola outbreak right before COVID hit. This orphaned many children who are now teens and young adults. They want to work but cannot get a job without transportation. Your donated bike will make a HUGE difference in the lives of these young people who have lost so much.
As a volunteer, under supervision, you will prepare bikes for shipping by removing pedals and turning the handle bars to be in line with the bike frame. If you can, please bring allen or adjustable wrenches. Watch this video about the program. They show what needs to be done to the bikes starting at minute 3:00 of the 5:23 video.
