You are invited to join us this MLK Day of Service as we make blankets for US Veterans in hospice care. At Montgomery Hospice and Prince George’s Hospice, we tailor our care to every patient and their family’s needs, making sure that skill, compassion, and cultural competence are the foundations of the care we offer to those living with an advancing life-limiting illness in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties.
Veteran patients hold an extra special place in our hearts and we honor them with pinning ceremonies where they receive a certificate of recognition for their service, a We Honor Veterans pin, a star from a retired American flag, and a patriotic-themed fleece blanket.
By signing up for this event, you will help us tie the fringe (no sewing skills required!) on our treasured patriotic blankets. Thanks to your help, the blankets will be gifted to our veteran patients throughout 2025.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
