Description

We are looking for high school or older students interested in participating in OMA.  What is OMA?! OMA stands for Opening Minds thru Art and was created for people with mild to moderate memory loss.  A volunteer is paired with a nursing home resident for a weekly art class.  Our SUMMER session will run on Weds July 10 - Aug 14. Students can sign up for the morning and/or afternoon sessions. Morning session is 10-12; afternoon is 1-3.  No art experience is necessary; there will be an instructor and training will be provided.  Basic understanding of Dementia and patience with older adults will be helpful. GREAT for students interested in psychology, social work, education/teaching, art, and health-related fields.

Contact Monica at mayer@ceslc.org for more information or details.
