BP4K's mission is to Empower youth with a platform for action, advocacy, awareness, and policy engagement around environmental wellness, educational equity, and civic engagement.

With 2026 Elections upon us, BP4K is running a 2026 "Elections Voter Awareness Pledge Drive" to help promote civic engagement and our youth volunteers can play huge part in it.

You will be working in forested areas with dense brush and may encounter thorns and sharp branches. Please dress accordingly. We recommend long pants that cover your ankles, long sleeves, and sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Bring plenty of water to drink and gloves, pruners, and loppers if you have them. Gloves and tools are available to borrow if you don’t have your own. No power tools or machetes allowed.

YMCA Youth Links Mentoring is looking for adult volunteers to be positive role models for youth between the ages of 5-19. Our program is a collaboration between Montgomery County Child Welfare, the Circuit Court, Montgomery County Public Schools, the Department of Juvenile Services and the YMCA. Many of the children in our program live in foster or other out-of-home care; most are monitored by Child Welfare because of neglect, abuse or other challenges in the home.  Mentoring guarantees these young people that there is someone who cares about them, and that they are not alone in dealing with life’s day-to-day challenges.  

With just 4 - 8 hours a month, you can support boys and girls living all over Montgomery County by offering friendship, encouragement, and learning opportunities. Volunteer mentors are required to attend informational and training sessions. Once matched with a mentee, mentors are encouraged to attend continuing education workshops and program events.

Small Things Matter's Kokua Foods Program helps address food insecurity in our community.  

We are looking for volunteers to help us make cookies and other baked treats to share with food insecure families in our community that we serve.  The pandemic brought about by COVID-19 have made these families even more vulnerable than before and they need some additional food support.  These baked treats are a nice way to provide a fun snack to go along with the other foods that we are providing for these families.  We would love to have individuals and groups supporting this effort.

Middle school and high school students are eligible to earn SSL hours by making baked goods until schools return to normal status.  20 cookies (2.5"-3" in diameter) or 20 regular size cupcakes or 1 baked dessert loaf (use an 8.5" X 4.5" X 2.5" pan) = 1 hour of service  (Please note that mini cookies, cupcakes, or breads will not count and that we are no longer looking for regular bread as we are now getting donations of sandwich & loaf bread from a local bakery.)

Instructions (Please note that your work must be submitted via a Google form): 

NOTE: Items should be baked fresh the day before.  Please do not make cookies ahead of time and refrigerate or freeze them.

-Please take photo of them being made and a group photo of the baked items once you've finished. 

-Cookies and muffins should be put into Ziplock bags in batches of 4 and loaves should be wrapped tightly in either Saran Wrap or a gallon size Ziplock bag. Please label them and note if nuts are present.  

-Make a log by writing down the number items made, and have your parent initial it. 

-Submit all your work (photos, signed log, etc.) via the google form:

Once your donations and your google form is received you will get an email with the SSL hours you've earned. You will need to fill in sections 1 and 3 of you SSL form and turn in both this and the email to your school's SSL coordinator.  They will then credit your hours. 

Baked goods donations can be dropped off at the Bedford Station Apartments (1400 University Blvd E, Hyattsville, MD 20783) on the first and third Fridays of each month from 7:30am-8:30am.  To drop off please bring your baked goods in a box to the main office and leave it by the fence.  Please note: You cannot bring your donations to Bedford Station Apartments any other day or time than stated above.  It is a distribution site, not our office.  Thanks!

We are also able to accept baked goods at the TPSS Coop (201 Ethan Allen Ave, Takoma Park MD 20912) on ALL Friday mornings from 7:30-8:30am, but please let us know what dates and the amounts you are going to be donating by emailing us at thesmallthingsmatter@yahoo.com at least 3 days in advance.  Please note that if the weather is bad (rain/snow) you must contact us the day before so that we can give you an alternative drop off location.  Please drop off your baked goods behind the TPSS Coop building on Columbia Avenue to one of our members (not inside to a TPSS Coop employee). Not every neighborhood in the Washington, D.C., region offers convenient access to a brick-and-mortar food pantry or other hunger resources. To help fill this gap, the Capital Area Food Bank brings no-cost pop-up markets directly into neighborhoods where they’re needed through their Mobile Markets, which offer monthly distribution of free fruits, vegetables, shelf-stable food, and other groceries to area residents.

Mobile Markets occur on the last or second-to-last Thursday of each month at the Rockville Senior Center. Volunteers are needed to assist with food distribution, including setting up tables of produce, bagging produce, helping families select and take food to their cars, and cleaning up.

Volunteer with The Urban Studio in honoring Dr. King while also connecting the community with nature in the Chesapeake Bay through art at BlackRock Center for the Arts MLK SAY IT LOUD Event. This tabling event aims to provide nature art-themed coloring pages where families can stop by the table and color illustrations of local plants and animals.

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue has an adoption event on Sunday February 8th at the Rockville PetSmart.

Come spend the afternoon with a Lucky Dog! We need dog handlers to hold a dog's leash during our adoption event and talk up the dog to potential adopters during the event. We also need drivers to drive Lucky Dogs to and from our adoption event. Handler check-in is at 11:15 am (dog check in starts at 11:30 am). You should plan to stay until 3:30 pm.

The final day to sign up for any event is the Friday before that specific event.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization committed to building and delivering beds to children in need — because every child deserves a safe, comfortable place to sleep. Our local Montgomery chapter works year-round with volunteers and community partners to bring comfort and dignity to children across our area. We help children who have been sleeping on the floor, on couches, or sharing overcrowded sleeping spaces.

The Opportunity – Material Loading Volunteer:

We’re gearing up for a remote Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build, and we need a few strong, reliable volunteers to help us load the SHP truck with equipment.

Join our next Volunteer Training - April 14th, 15th & 16th, 2026 from 9am to 4pm in Gaithersburg, MD.

Volunteers are the heart of CaringMatters. In order to responsibly serve patients and the bereaved, every volunteer who works directly with clients must complete a three-day introductory training session, which is often described by graduates as a "transformative experience." 

Because of the interaction volunteers have with clients, necessary background checks, paperwork and other items that must be completed before attending the New Volunteer Training.  These requirements include: 

21 years of age or older

Consenting to a background check (no cost to volunteer trainee) 

Attending an informal interview with Penny Gladhill, Director of Volunteer Helping Hands and co-founder of CaringMatters

After the three day training, specific program volunteers are required to complete additional training. Requirements for each program are detailed below. Please note that volunteers are able to volunteer with more than one program.

Seeking volunteers for our overnight weekend camp, Camp Erin, for children grieving the death of a loved one. Camp Erin is a bereavement camp offered to children ages 6 through 17 and includes age-appropriate discussions and fun-filled creative experiences designed to help children share their feelings with their peers who are in similar situations. Camp Erin is offered in partnership between CaringMatters and Bar-T, a premier childcare provider. Camp Erin Montgomery County is scheduled to be held April 24-26, 2026 at Bar-T Mountainside in Frederick.

We need adult volunteers who serve in a variety of roles. We especially need volunteers who can serve as a "Big Buddy" to a child who has recently experienced the death of a loved one. A Big Buddy provides caring support to his or her assigned Little Buddy by listening to the child discuss the loss, both in the supervised group sessions and throughout the camp events.

A beautiful, movement-based show that revisits the classic film The Red Balloon and will delight audiences of all ages and speakers of all languages. Nothing can go right for the old man, whose days are gray and dreary, until he is visited by a friendly red balloon. In the playful physical style of 1930’s silent movies, the old man–an adult version of the boy in the film – regains his youthful spirit.

Usher volunteers will have the opportunity to help seat guests, pass out programs and scan tickets. Ushers must wear all black with limited logos on t-shirts; no ripped jeans; and closed toed shoes. (no crocs) Ushers must sign in and out. If you are unable to make it to usher, please unregister yourself on the site. If you do not show up for your shift and do not email or unregister, we will not be able to usher for the rest of the show run.

This special program celebrates the legacy and people of Prathertown, a historic African American community founded in 1883 and among the first of its kind in Maryland.

We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help make this community-centered event a success.

Volunteer Roles Include:

Loading and unloading supplies from vehicles

Assisting with guest escort and check-in.

Distributing signs, information sheets, and handouts.

Setting up refreshments and snacks for participants.

Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is designed for 13–14-year-olds who are ready to find their professional voice while making a real impact. As a CIT, you are the bridge between campers and staff. You’ll be the energy behind our "In the Zone" morning meetings and the mentor helping younger kids navigate the power of student choice in afternoon workshops. It’s about more than just supervision; it’s about influence. You’ll help campers learn how to make friends and build resilience—the same skills that made your camp years great.

Because you’re a leader, we hold you to high standards. You’ll be "unplugged" and fully engaged, representing our professional brand through your conduct and dress code. In return, you’ll gain hands-on experience in classroom management and professional responsibility. With weekly leadership meetings and regular feedback, you won’t just be "helping out"—you’ll be building a resume and a reputation as a community leader.

The UpCounty Hub is serving families in need. We provide fresh produce, shelf stable foods, emergency and hygiene items, and social services for the families that we serve.

We are in need of volunteers to assist in our monthly diaper distribution/pantry at The Upcounty Hub. Volunteers' duties vary from handing out diapers to families with appointments to assisting in the food pantry.

Brookside Gardens is celebrating Earth Month on April 26. We will be exploring the science and art of sustainability through child-driven projects, plantings, and activities.

We are seeking engaging volunteers to assist with children's activity booths and interact with the public. Volunteers will help set-up and clean-up activity materials and event spaces. Volunteers will also assist children during hands-on activities such as potting a plant, crafting, watercolor painting, science-based investigations, and others.

Brookside Gardens is seeking volunteers to help visitors learn about the ecological importance of butterflies and teach them what they can do in their own backyards to help sustain these extraordinary insects. Docents will welcome and educate visitors, provide information about the species within the conservatory exhibit, and share in the experience of delighting and enlightening all who enter. Docents will also aide in the adherence to USDA enforced guidelines, preventing the escape of exotic butterflies into our native ecosystem by monitoring visitors and doorways and enforcing exhibit rules.

Daily shifts from 9am-12pm and 12-3pm.
Minimum of 10 shifts required.

The Reading Express opens the door for imagination and endless possibilities.  Make a video of a children's book.  Show the book, page by page, as you read it for a child.  Please check with the Chief Intern for pre-approval of the book.  These videos, upon approval, will be placed on a playlist that will be sent through QR codes on Tacy Foundation business card gifts to Children's National Hospital patients, Fisher Houses nationwide, and to Red Cross stations where children and their families are impacted by challenges of fires, floods, and other hardships.

The CFW is seeking volunteers to assist with our 46th Women's Legislative Briefing!  The Women’s Legislative Briefing (WLB) is the premier and longest-standing women’s legislative event in the state of Maryland. It is coordinated by the Montgomery County Commission for Women and brings together advocates, policymakers, and emerging leaders to empower, engage, and mobilize Marylanders around issues affecting women and girls throughout the state. The WLB inspires, promotes action, and helps bridge perspectives. This year's theme is Stronger Together: Leading with Vision, Voices, and Values.  We need assistance on two days: Friday, January 30 for pre-conference prep and on Saturday, January 31, the day of the conference. SSL hours are available for students!

MLK Day is not a day off. It is a day to step up.

This Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is an invitation for teens ages 12 to 18 to turn compassion into action and generosity into something tangible you can hold in your hands. On Monday, January 19, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cedar Lane UU Congregation, we will come together to create care bags for people in our community experiencing food insecurity, many of them immigrants working hard to build stable lives.

This is hands-on, fast-paced, and meaningful. You will help assemble care bags filled with essential food items, practical supplies, and handwritten notes of encouragement that remind recipients they are seen and valued.

Each bag tells a story of solidarity, care, and shared humanity. Participants are encouraged to bring donations that will make an immediate impact, including maseca (corn flour), cooking oil, and diapers sizes 5 and 6. Every item you contribute becomes part of something larger than yourself.

If you are ready to do more than talk about justice, this is your moment. Bring your energy, your heart, and your sense of purpose. Come spend your morning making a difference and leave knowing you used your time, voice, and resources to help bend the world a little closer to justice.

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is looking for volunteer dog and cat drivers for our rescue animals!

We need volunteers that LOVE to drive and are willing to pick up dogs or cats from various locations in VA, MD, DC and deliver them to adoption events or foster homes so they can be safe and find loving adoptive families!

Many of animals are in local boardng kennels and their only chance to get adopted is to attend Saturday and Sunday afternoon adoption events -- but unless they get a volunteer driver willing to pick them up and drop them back off if not adopted -- they aren't able to attend the events.

Saturday Hours:

Drop animal off at event by 11:45am -- pick them back up at 2pm (if the animal gets adopted we call you!)

You choose when you are available and which locations you are willing to drive to!  We send weekly emails with which dogs and cats we need help driving and where they are located and you just respond if you are available!  Volunteer hours will be signed off for you and your mileage and gas are tax deductible!

Cats come in travel crates and you can borrow travel crates from us for dogs if you want or you can use their leash to tether them to a headrest in your car!

Gardener Assistants support an assigned Horticulturist at McCrillis Gardens to help maintain a wide variety of ornamental plants, including weeding, pruning, watering, grooming, staking, deadheading, preparing garden beds, mulching, and general clean-up. 

Volunteers are asked to commit to a once/week 4-hour volunteer day, preferably on Wednesdays from 8am-12pm. Volunteers must be able to perform tasks of a physical nature, including lifting up to 20lbs, and bending and kneeling. Volunteers must also be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (heat, humidity, cold).

This position provides volunteers the opportunity to work with professional horticulture staff, spend time outdoors, and enhance their own knowledge of plants and gardening techniques.

Birthday Cakes 4 Free Maryland (BC4F) is a nonprofit organization that collects and delivers birthday cakes to financially and socially disadvantaged children and seniors. We are an entirely student run organization!

Anyone can become a volunteer! There is no minimum age requirement. This is a great way to start earning SSL hours in middle school. 

Students bake cakes in their homes. Cakes must meet the container guidelines which are outlined on www.bc4f.org. The decoration/flavor/design of your cake(s) is up to you but we would prefer if you could write “Happy Birthday!” on your cake(s). You can make a cake from a cake mix or your favorite recipe. Round, square or rectangle cakes are all okay as long as they are individually and securely boxed, with lids taped for transport. Round cakes must have multiple layers. Single layer 9" round cakes will not earn SSL hours. We also accept cupcakes. Twenty-four cupcakes are equivalent to one cake. Join the University of Maryland Pre-College Programs team in an exciting volunteer opportunity supporting UMD Concessions during basketball games at the SECU Center!

Description: At our acclaimed Outdoor Food Distribution located in North Bethesda! Every Saturday So What Else provides free food to over 1,500 people in the parking lot in front of our warehouse with the help of our incredible volunteer team.

Volunteers will help with the following tasks: setting up tables, setting up tents, preparing produce, sorting produce, helping with line control, helping to direct traffic, and more. Volunteers should plan to arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for a quick orientation. Volunteers should be able to stand for long periods, lift large boxes, and do a considerable amount of movement. Volunteers are required to wear closed-toed shoes and clothing they can both move around in and get dirty (NO CROCS ALLOWED). This event is entirely outdoors so please dress accordingly and bring both water and a snack to your shift. This is a great opportunity for SSL hours, and children above 10 can participate as long as their parent/guardian accompanies anyone under 16.

AGE RESTRICTION: This is a great opportunity for children aged 10 and above to participate. A parent or guardian must accompany children aged 10-15, and if they arrive without one, their parent or guardian will be contacted. Volunteers aged 16 and above can participate independently without the presence of a parent or guardian.

5:30 am to 8:00 am: Volunteers will help prepare food boxes to load into cars for our drive-thru distribution and assist with traffic control.(Those participating will receive double community service hours- (NOT FOR SSL). *ONLY FOR THIS SHIFT*)

7:00 am to 11:00 am: Volunteers will help load food boxes into cars, assist with breaking down empty boxes, and clean up where needed.

10:00 am to 1:00 pm: Volunteers will help load cars with food boxes,  assist with breaking down empty boxes, and clean up where needed.

12:00 pm to 3 PM: Volunteers will help load cars with food boxes and assist with clean-up after the distribution has ended.

We encourage you to sign up for any shift, even if you can't stay for the entire time. Simply inform the site lead upon arrival so our team can accommodate your schedule.

*To reach our warehouse, type "4924 Wyaconda Rd, North Bethesda, MD" into your GPS. This will take you directly to the entrance of the parking lot. After you pull into the lot, please look for the yellow parking spots immediately to your right. You can park in any of the yellow parking spots in the lot. Parking is not permitted in front of Dogtopia and against the fence. To find our warehouse entrance, look for signs for "Dogtopia" and then keep walking; our warehouse is to the left of Dogtopia, directly around the corner. When you arrive please walk to the outdoor tables and ask for a staff person, then let them know you're there to volunteer.

We're looking for dedicated volunteers to help out around our Montgomery County Warehouse, which takes in thousand of pounds of donated food, clothing, toys, household goods, diapers and more each day. Volunteers will help with the following projects: organizing and displaying donations, helping to take inventory, cleaning and organizing our space, making grocery bags for home deliveries, helping to load and unload delivery vehicles and more! Age requirements: We accept volunteers aged 10 and older. Physical ability: While some of these tasks are physically strenuous, we have plenty of opportunities for folks that have physical limitations or other restrictions, and our warehouse is wheelchair accessible. How to prepare: Volunteers should arrive wearing closed-toed shoes and clothing they can move around in and get dirty. Please note that the heating in our warehouse is currently out of service, so please dress warmly, wearing layers and coats for your shift. We would be happy to have you volunteer at the Interfaith Works Clothing Center and Food Pantry.  The Interfaith Works (IW) Clothing Center and Food Pantry distributes clothing, household goods, and food free of charge to clients so they can pay for rent, bills, and other expenses.  Thousands of individuals, businesses, schools, camps, service organizations, and congregations donate time and goods, which make our program possible.  We are proud to provide the link between people in our community who have things they no longer need or want with the people in the community who are in need of the same items.

Volunteer tasks in the Clothing Center include receiving donations as people drop them off, sorting them by type of donation, hanging clothes and restocking sections in the center, and helping to keep the center clean and tidy.  Volunteer tasks in the Food Pantry include restocking the store, helping answer questions that our families have, checking expiration dates on items, and helping keep track of inventory. 

All new volunteers are required to attend a brief orientation session.  Orientation is offered Wednesdays 2:30pm - 4:30PM and Saturdays 8:30 am - 10:30am. You can sign up for orientation here.

Volunteer shifts are available at the Clothing Center and Food Hub Tuesdays-Fridays 8:00am-4:00pm, and Saturdays 8:00am-2:00pm.  When you arrive to volunteer you will be assigned to the Clothing Center or Food Hub as needed.  You can sign up for volunteer shifts here.

We require that volunteers be at least 14 years old.  All volunteers under 18 years of age must have a parent signature to start their hours.  A parent’s signature can be provided on our online form or in person.

Interfaith Works Becky's House is a home that provide permanent housing, 24-hour oversight, and intensive case management services to 8 senior women with behavioral health diagnoses.

We are looking for volunteers to prepare meals for the 8 clients at the IW Becky's House, located at 13023 Parkland Dr., Rockville, MD 20853. Meals need to be dropped off at the following times (please note you can drop off meals earlier):

· Breakfast: 9:00-10:00 am

· Lunch: 1:00-2:00 pm

· Dinner: 5:00-6:00 pm

Students can earn 2 SSL hours for making homemade meals (not for store-bought or purchased items).  

If you are interested in providing a meal to our clients and would like to serve we can have up to 5 volunteers. Masks are required for all volunteers along with a temperature and symptom upon arrival. We are looking for volunteers to prepare meals for the 30 clients at the IW New Leaf Shelter, located at 5320 Marinelli Rd, Rockville MD, 20852. Meals need to be dropped off at the following times (please note you can drop off meals earlier):

· Lunch: drop off by 11:30 am

We have a Reggio Emilia inspired summer program for children ages 2-5 years. Volunteers are needed to assist educators with daily activities for children, such as art, music, water play, story time, sports and movement, and more. Volunteer hours are from 9am to 1pm.

We are currently accepting volunteers for this summers program which starts in June of 2026. More details to follow.

Help teachers and support children throughout the day. This may include setting up and cleaning up activities, assisting before and after water play, helping with transitions, and supporting camp-wide events. Always follow the teachers’ lead—if you’re unsure, ask. Be kind, calm, and helpful. Phones should stay out of sight.

Please stay actively involved with the children. Sitting off to the side is discouraged. You can read stories, play with children, help during outdoor time, and assist teachers as needed. Weekly assignments will be given on your first day.

We work with children ages 2–5. Interact in age-appropriate ways and help keep children safe at all times. Maintain respectful physical boundaries—do not pick up children, carry them, or have them sit on your lap. You will never be asked to change diapers or clothes.

Camp runs 9:00 AM–1:00 PM. Please arrive by 9:00 AM for a brief meeting.
Location: 8300 Meadowbrook Lane, Chevy Chase. Enter through the main entrance and go to the library.

Dress for indoor and outdoor activities. Clothes may get wet or dirty. Wear sunscreen. Bring sandals for water play.

The Shelter Resident Transition (SRT) Service Associate (SA) is an operational position and is assigned temporarily, typically on level 4 and above disaster relief operations (DROs). SRT Caseworkers work with shelter residents to understand their resources and transition roadblocks to help households create an individualized action plan so that they can transition from the shelter to a more sustainable living solution. We're looking for friendly, detail-oriented volunteers (BILINGUAL) comfortable using computers to help with check-ins, appointment scheduling, and logging services. Your role will ensure smooth operations during our service hours and help families access essential resources efficiently.

World Cancer Day, observed every year on February 4, is a global initiative that raises awareness, promotes prevention and early detection, and mobilizes communities worldwide to take action against cancer.

As part of our World Cancer Day Youth Campaign, ASL Pink Foundation is inviting high school girls to serve as Youth Ambassadors and help spread breast cancer awareness among youth and their communities.

Youth Ambassadors will participate in an interactive, age-appropriate Breast Health Education Workshop, where they will:
-Learn key information about breast cancer and early detection
-Engage in role-play scenarios designed to build confidence and communication skills for talking about breast health and breast cancer with family and friends
-Receive informational materials to take home and share with friends, parents, guardians, and female relatives to help spread awareness beyond the workshop.                                               

-Engage in a hands-on advocacy project to develop breast cancer awareness materials that will be used for community education and outreach.

Small Things Matter does a variety of things in our community with our food, literacy, and crafting programs. We will be celebrating kindness for humans and animals in honor of Tommy Raskin in his hometown of Takoma Park.  

There will be various kindness activities benefitting local charities that support people as well as animals for families and individuals of all ages to participate in, collections at PBES on the day of the event, local businesses offering in-store kindness events.

We would love to have more groups join in hosting activities at PBES and businesses either hosting in-store kindness events or making in-kind donations for the raffle. If your group would like to host an activity at PBES please contact me.

Middle school and high school students are eligible to earn SSL hours by working onsite at Kindness Day. Community service hours are also available.

This is an amazing opportunity to gain volunteer experience helping Arise and Flourish, a non-profit organization based in Montgomery County, Maryland that speaks to students about substance use and misuse.  During the last twelve years, Arise and Flourish has paved the way through public and private schools on educating our youth of the dangers associated with addiction. Our program delivers a robust and real-life look into the cycle of addiction and provides an understanding, knowledge and insight on how to exercise prevention. Arise and Flourish’s family of dedicated volunteers have delivered our program to nearly 400 schools and have reached over 49,000 students with our impactful message of prevention and hope. In addition to our visits to schools, we are also asking for the student’s assistance to continue the education of addiction and prevention through SSL hours. 

What students will do:

Student will first need to complete the volunteer form/parent/guardian permission slip and submit via to e-mail info@ariseandflourish.org. Please note that MCPS has not vetted the YouTube videos created by our organization and parents/guardians are responsible for previewing the videos and then providing parent permission for their students to view the videos.

Once approved, students will watch two video presentations provided by our organization.

How to earn community service hours (SSL):

Students have the ability to earn 1 SSL hour for the quality completion of this project and can earn up to 4 SSL hours in total (cumulative - not per year) for each speaker video watched and paper written (up to 4 speaker videos along with the one video for the cycle of addiction).

When your paper or art project is complete, e-mail info@ariseandflourish.org your 2-page paper or an electronic copy of your art project and paragraph to collect your signed SSL sheet for this project. Students will need to cc their parents as well on the email submission. Please allow 3-5 business days to receive your signed SSL form.

Privacy:

Please, do not share any pictures or likeness of the students as well as personal information such as home address, email or phone number etc. in your paper or artwork. Also, please do not include any real-life pictures or images of yourself. We ask that students include their first name, grade and school only on each submission.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety and privacy at any time the student is interacting with the nonprofit and its clients. The nonprofit organization will determine the number of SSL hours awarded based on the evidence submitted. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns. This service activity is designed to be completed within the safety of the student’s home until schools resume normal status.

The Farm to Food Bank program, facilitated by Manna Food Center, supports the purchasing of locally grown produce and proteins, which is then shared with the vast network of food assistance providers in Montgomery County.

Four Seasons Dancers Adult Troupe is holding open classes for prospective new dancers. We rehearse, study and perform International Character dance in the DMV area.

For 20 years, we have produced global-inspired dance programs in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area including assisted living facilities, community events, local festivals, rehabilitation centers and other organizations.

Four Seasons Dancers is a non-profit dance troupe performing global-inspired dance programs in the Maryland/DC/Virginia area in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, community events, local festivals, rehabilitation centers and other organization.

Criteria:
Our junior troupe is for students who are at least 12 years of age, currently taking dance or who have prior dance/gymnastics training and who love to perform. All students interested in being a part of the troupe must audition.

Auditions  start in AUGUST/SEPTEMBER (Gaithersburg, MD ) 

JUNIOR TROUPE INFORMATION: Costumes (for performances) will be lent to each dancer at no charge. To prepare for our programs, dancers will attend a weekly class regularly and enroll in our semester beginning September, 2025. Additional rehearsals during the week may be scheduled in preparation for performances. Students will NOT earn SSL hours for attending class rehearsals. Dancers WILL earn SSL hours during performances for members of the community.

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is looking for volunteers who LOVE CATS to go to various Petsmart locations and care for our cats that live there while waiting to be adopted!  Our cats are currently housed in 3 locations:  Largo Petsmart (10464 Campus Way S, Largo, MD 20774), Oxon Hill Petsmart (6005 Oxon Hill Road Oxon Hill, MD 20745) and Rockville Petsmart (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)
