Join us for an exciting 10 hours of personal development, civic engagement, and leadership development. The Civic Engagement and Leadership Academy is the perfect opportunity to gain valuable knowledges, skills and experience while making a positive impact on your community.

This exciting online program is designed to help high school students develop their leadership skills while learning about civic engagement. The program will include classroom instruction, project-based learning and hands-on experiences that will allow participants to apply the concepts and skills they learn to real-world situations. Our experienced teachers and mentors will guide students through a series of activities and workshops designed to promote personal development, civic engagement, and leadership development. All participants not only will receive their certificate of Civic Engagement and leadership but also will earn 10 SSL hours after completing this program.

The “Write to Your Representatives program” is a valuable opportunity for high school students to engage in civic activities , advocate for important issues, make their voices heard, and make a difference in their community and in the world. HS students will identify, research and analyze community or social problems,  Connect issues to policies , and propose their solutions to address these issues. 

Participants will earn 20 SSL hours, the detailed informations is  as follows:

Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC) offers countless volunteer opportunities, and one is sure to be perfect for you. From tutoring students to distributing free groceries and from helping out with bingo night to book club, at AHC we support residents however we can. Help Kids Sleep Better – Volunteer to Deliver Beds with Sleep in Heavenly Peace!

Imagine a child sleeping on the floor — now imagine being the reason that child gets their very own bed. At Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), we believe no child should go without a bed, yet far too many are.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: get kids off the floor and into beds of their own. We build and deliver complete twin-size bed sets — including a frame, mattress, sheets, pillow, and blanket — to children in need.

Event Description
Join us for an morning of purpose, teamwork, and joy! Together, we’ll deliver pre-built bed parts and assemble them right in the homes of families in need. Once assembled, we’ll make each bed sleep-ready — fully dressed with all the bedding a child needs for a warm, restful night.

No experience necessary — just bring your heart and helping hands. We’ll guide you every step of the way.

Thank you for volunteering with the UpCounty Hub! 

The UpCounty Hub provides fresh produce, shelf stable foods, hygiene items, and some social services for the families that we serve in our community. 

Drivers are needed on Thursdays to deliver food packages to the doorstep of vulnerable Upcounty families, that are not able to drive to one of our weekly distribution sites. Drivers should be able to lift up to 25 lbs.  Addresses of clients will be provided upon arrival at the Hub on delivery day. You will be delivering food directly to clients. 

Please arrive at the UpCounty Hub between 10:45am-11:00am on Thursday and pull around to the right side of the building to the loading dock. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN HANDICAP SPOTS!  If possible please try to register for this shift by the Tuesday before so we can assign boxes to the correct number of cars.

Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC) organizes fun events for residents to relax and get to know each other.

On Thursday, July 30, 3:30-6pm, we're hosting a "Field Day" event for all ages at Allium Place in Silver Spring. There will be food and water games so children and adults can have fun, relax and be together.

Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, sign-in, activities, giving out snacks and clean-up. The volunteer shift is 3:30-6pm. Sign up using this link or email volunteer@ahcinc.org with questions.

Join Weed Warrior Supervisor Barbara for a non-native, invasive plant removal workday at Elmhirst Parkway Neighborhood Conservation Area in Bethesda, MD. 

Day of instructions will be shared with those registered directly with Montgomery Parks.

We will focus on non-native, invasive vines and shrubs including porcelainberry (Ampelopsis glandulosa var. brevipedunculata) and bush honeysuckle (Lonicera spp.). Native Virginia creeper and poison ivy are also present and beneficial, so we will avoid those.

Please wear long pants that cover your ankles, long socks, long sleeves, and sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Bring gloves, pruners, flathead screwdrivers, weed wrenches/uprooters, small folding hand saws, and/or loppers if you have them. Gardening-type gloves and tools are available to borrow if you don’t have your own. No power tools or machetes allowed. Please bring water to drink. Please note: Court Ordered Volunteer Hours can’t be granted through this workday.

This event is capped at 10 people.

This workday is pre-approved for MCPS SSL hours. Volunteers must be 16 years or older to join this event.

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are a nonprofit retail outlet that sells donated building supplies, household goods and furniture at deep discounts. Volunteers work with staff and other volunteers on donation intake, merchandising, customer service, and general upkeep of the store. The ReStore depends on enthusiastic volunteers for everything from bringing in donated items to helping us sort donations in our backroom. We welcome volunteers with many skills, capabilities and experience levels to volunteer with us one day at a time, or by making a longer-term commitment.

ReStore® is an integral part of Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland. We are also flexible with shift times for regular consistent volunteers

WHY A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue Exists: 

We founded our rescue after working in other shelters and rescues and seeing the same heartbreaking pattern: good, well-meaning people being turned away without even a conversation. We watched great potential adopters overlooked because of outdated rules and rigid expectations, while animals sat in kennels waiting for the mythical “perfect” home. Meanwhile, those turned away often ended up at breeders — and who could blame them? They were trying to do the right thing and were told they weren’t good enough.

What is required to host?

Host families simply provide a safe, supportive home environment, a designated bed for the student (can share a room with a same-sex sibling close in age), and three daily meals. Families of all shapes and sizes make excellent hosts, including empty nesters, single parents, and families with young children. Above & Beyond Education provides 24/7 local coordinator support throughout the entire exchange period.

RisuCon is an annual anime and cosplay convention with media screenings, panels, contests, cosplay, vendors, and more! Hosted by The Montgomery County Comic & Cosplay Club, we need volunteers to help run this convention

REGISTRATION: Responsibilities include preparing tickets, scanning QR codes(may need to use personal mobile device), handing out badges/wristbands and ensuring crowd traffic runs smoothly.

PROGRAMMING: Responsibilities include checking badges/wristbands at the door, counting amount of people in attendance, ensuring panels run smoothly being on time with no discriminatory content being presented, and keeping an eye out for attendee disturbances.

ACTIVITIES ROOM: Responsibilities include running games and crafts, helping lead activities, and general monitoring of the room.

VENDOR ROOM: Responsibilities include assisting vendors with set up or break-down, ensuring crowd traffic runs smoothly, watching a vendor's table as they take a break, checking badges/wristbands at the door and general monitoring of the room.

COSPLAY BARN: Responsibilities include assisting artists or cosplay guests with set up or break-down, clearing tables and floors after each crafting activity, checking badges/wristbands at the door and ensuring crowd traffic runs smoothly.

PHOTO OPS: Responsibilities include assisting photographers with taking pictures, printing out shots for attendees on Risucon printer, and crowd control.

HEALTH & SAFETY: Responsibilities include policy enforcement, guiding cars to park, setting up banners and equipment, crowd and line control, checking badges/wristbands at perimeters, packing up supplies and loading them into cars.

INFO SERVICES: Responsibilities include answering any questions attendees have, providing directions, explaining the programming schedule, handing out water, roaming the con as mobile information and promoting events.

MERCHANDISE BOOTH: Responsibilities include processing merchandise payments for attendees, packing/unpacking goods, keeping track of transactions, and promoting sales.

IT: Responsibilities include setting up any audio/visual equipment, managing equipment during events, and troubleshooting technical issues.

SNACK BOOTH: Responsibilities include serving food, drinks and snacks to other volunteers and staff, confirming volunteer/staff badges, monitoring which foods/drinks are most popular, keeping the kitchen and booth area clean, and packing up leftovers at the end of the day.

Students intending to earn SSL hours will be under the primary supervision of the Volunteer Director, and secondary supervision of the Department Heads. Volunteers must be able to take directions, work in teams and/or independently, fulfill all responsibilities of the department assigned, and be prepared for an active shift.

Bilingual, Spanish/English volunteer needed to assist clinical and administrative team of Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic in guiding patients through the care process. 

Helpful skills: Microsoft Word 365, Jira, Data entry, phone experience, customer service

Time Commitment: 4 hours per week or 16 hours per month. Choose the hours that work with your schedule within the Clinic open hours of Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. 

Functions: 

Support the eligibility process by assisting patients with enrollment forms and collecting required supporting documents; review patient eligibility, ensuring all necessary information is up-to-date and accurate. 

Call patients to schedule new appointments and to reschedule missed appointments. Make calls to remind patients of upcoming appointments; to check on their well-being; to confirm they have scheduled referral appointments; to check completion of screenings and labs; to update information on appointments outside the clinic. 

Assist patients in setting up and navigation through their health portal. 

Join Vietnamese American Services (VAS) as a volunteer for the Maryland Mid-Autumn Festival 2026, one of the largest Vietnamese cultural celebrations in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Since 2015, VAS has been dedicated to serving the Vietnamese-American community through education, health, social services, cultural preservation, and community engagement.

Clean up trash with the with Glenmont Forest Neighbors Civic Association (GFNCA)

Join the Glenmont Forest Neighbors Civic Association on the second Sunday of each month from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM to help clean up trash and recycling in the Glenmont Forest neighborhood and surrounding areas.

You are welcome to participate as often as you’d like — monthly attendance is encouraged but not required.

Why It Matters

During rainstorms, discarded trash and recycling wash into storm drains and flow into rivers, lakes, and oceans. By removing litter from our neighborhood, we help prevent pollution and protect our waterways — even our drinking water. Together, we can make a visible difference in our community and environment.

Not every neighborhood in the Washington, D.C., region offers convenient access to a brick-and-mortar food pantry or other hunger resources. To help fill this gap, the Capital Area Food Bank brings no-cost pop-up markets directly into neighborhoods where they’re needed through their Mobile Markets, which offer monthly distribution of free fruits, vegetables, shelf-stable food, and other groceries to area residents.

Mobile Markets occur on the last or second-to-last Thursday of each month at the Rockville Senior Center. Volunteers are needed to assist with food distribution, including setting up tables of produce, bagging produce, helping families select and take food to their cars, and cleaning up.

This opportunity is available for student volunteers to earn SSL hours. Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit organization directly with any questions and/or concerns. Turn creativity into healing and learning! Volunteers create original coloring pages that blend cheerful art with a simple STEM learning element. We compile them into themed educational booklets and deliver them — or mail them digitally/print — to kids receiving care.

NOTE: You may use AI tools only to digitize and clean up your own hand-drawn designs (for example, to make lines bolder, convert to clean vector format, or improve scan quality for better printing).

Brighten someone's day with a handmade card! Volunteers design and create handwritten cards that we deliver to people who need a little encouragement — patients, seniors, veterans, and first responders. Every card you make goes directly to someone in our community. Make 15 cards to earn 1 SSL hour. You're welcome to make as many sets as you'd like.

What materials or supplies do I need? You can use any supplies you have at home! Cardstock, printer paper, crayons, pens, paints, markers, or design digitally and print — whatever you've got. Feel free to be creative!

Do the cards have to be a specific size? Typically we receive cards about 5 x 7 inches, folded in half. Please put all cards in one envelope or bag, and group/label them together by the type of card (for example, "Get Well" or "Thank You").

How should I sign the cards? Do not give any personal information in the cards — this is for your safety. You can keep it anonymous, or write: "[Your first name], Arts-n-STEM4Hearts Foundation Volunteer."

Can you help with what to write inside? Of course! Here are a few starters — and feel free to research other appropriate card-message ideas too.

DC JazzFest is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support the 2026 DC JazzFest, taking place throughout Washington, DC during Labor Day weekend, September 2–7, 2026.

As one of the nation's premier jazz festivals, DC JazzFest brings together world-class artists, music lovers, and community members for a week of performances, educational programs, and cultural experiences.

Volunteers play a critical role in helping us create a welcoming, organized, and memorable experience for all attendees. Opportunities include guest services, registration, VIP support, stage assistance, merchandise, and more. Volunteers receive a festival t-shirt, community service hours (if applicable), valuable event experience, and the opportunity to support one of Washington, DC's premier cultural events.

5. Write about your Piano Pals® or Guitar Pals® or Reading Express® Your Reflections may be about a particular life lesson that you taught this fall or last year during the holiday season. Tell about how your young student saw the world of holidays through his or her eyes. Your writing may reflect (1) a change in your idea of community service, (2) what you discovered that you did not know before you taught (Write about this in regard to the children whom you are serving), and/or (3) the importance of music in the lives of the children you are working with. It may include a particularly difficult challenge that you faced or are facing in working with children. The piece may be about how you discovered a side of yourself you had not known before these music classes. Relate how you would like to take what you learned into the world to share with others and to serve again. (1 SSL hour after it is published online or in the Newsletter). Join Weed Warrior Supervisor Maria for a non-native, invasive plant removal workday in Rock Creek Stream Valley Unit 6. We will focus on non-native, invasive vines, especially wisteria (Wisteria floribunda). Native vines, including native grape, are also present and beneficial, so we will avoid those.

We will meet in Rock Creek Stream Valley Unit 6, at the Parklawn Community Garden (12718 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville). Instructions will be sent after you register.

Please wear long pants that cover your ankles, tall socks, long sleeves, and sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Bring gloves, pruners, small folding hand saws and/or loppers if you have them. Gardening-type gloves and tools are available to borrow if you don’t have your own. No power tools or machetes allowed. Please bring water to drink.

Volunteers will bring food inside building to 2nd floor lobby using carts & elevators. Residents will pick up food boxes.

Volunteers should be friendly and reliable, able to work both independently and in a small group. Food boxes weigh between 20-40 pounds, so volunteers must be able to lift that amount onto tables & carts.

SSL Hour Equivalency:

-          Volunteers creating videos will receive SSL hours based on the actual amount of time spent producing the video, upon review and approval by Grace Helping Hands.

The following summarizes our position of volunteer Treasurer and member of the board of directors.

Accountability 

The board Treasurer is an executive and voting member of the board of directors of Carpe Diem Arts and appointed in a manner consistent with the bylaws. He/she is accountable to the Board for the fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities outlined below

Authority 

The Treasurer, as with other board members, has no authority to direct staff or take independent action on matters outside of the duties outlined unless given such authority by the Board 

Time Commitment 

Approximately 6-8 hours per month (board meetings, meetings with the Executive Director and CFO, committee meetings, performing other duties described below) 

Term of Office  

Two-year term with the possibility of renewal for two additional terms.

MusicAid (https://www.musicaid.us/home) is a student-led organization. As proud SSL partners with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) in Maryland.

We are a National 501(c)(3) non-profit and tax-exempt organization. MusicAid is one of the certifying organizations participating in the President’s Volunteer Service Award program.

Founded in July 2023, MusicAid has organized and contributed to 100+concerts by the middle of 2026, involving 1.8k+ cumulative attendees and more than 600 unique student musicians. These include performances at 7 senior homes, NIH Atrium, Children's National Hospital in D.C. We also provided More than 30 free piano accompaniments to musicians who couldn't afford the fee. We're looking forward to hosting more concerts in the future.

MusicAid is proud to be recognized by the Montgomery County Board of Education. The certificate states: “In recognition of your outstanding dedication to expanding musical opportunities for students and enriching our communities through education, service, and performances.” Signed by Julie Yang, President of the Board of Education on December 6, 2025, highlighting MusicAid’s impact in the community.

We are actively recruiting talented musicians from K-12 to join our mission. MusicAid hosts biweekly or monthly concerts at various assisted living facilities near Potomac and Arlington, Join MusicAid today and earn up to 4 SSL hours for contributing to our concert performances! SSL hours vary based on your performance duration and the length of the concert.

We appreciate all types of performances, including but not limited to instrument playing, singing, dancing, talk shows, comedy acts, poetry readings, and more. Whether you're a solo act, duo, trio, or group, you're invited to perform.

We offer the following equipment at the facility: a piano, a music stand, and a Bluetooth speaker. A Microphone will also be provided for singing performance.

Bethesda Metro Area Village is seeking volunteers to become occasional service providers for our members - older adults in the downtown Bethesda and surrounding areas.  We have various types of volunteer opportunities available but are specifically looking for volunteers who can help answer questions about technology.

Volunteer service providers must be over 18. Some services take place in the home, like connecting a new computer or troubleshooting a cable connection. Other questions might be able to be answered over the phone.  We are looking for volunteers with an interest in basic troubleshooting for home computers, printers, networking, and smartphones.  Complicated or time consuming questions are referred to paid providers.

Candidates must be personable and patient and feel that they have a good rapport with seniors.

Volunteers fill out an application and go through a background check and a short training.  You choose which service requests you would like to accept - there is no requirement to take any minimum number of requests and you do what is convenient for you. Most requests are for weekdays but there is great flexibility in dates. 

Volunteering is a wonderful way to contribute to your community. If you would like to help seniors to age in place in their homes and increase connection with their community, we would love to have you.

Bethesda Metro Area Village is seeking volunteers to become occasional service providers for our members - older adults in the downtown Bethesda and surrounding areas. You volunteer on your schedule!

Volunteers can choose to help as a driver (driving seniors to or from doctor's appointments, etc), a notetaker during medical appointments, absent owner services (such as watering plants or picking up packages) or to do light home repair tasks (such as lifting boxes, changing tall lightbulbs, etc), or provide limited technical assistance for computers and other devices. 

Our most-requested service is rides to doctor appointments during weekdays.These rides are crucial for our members and provide a way to get to know the member during conversation on the ride.

Volunteer service providers can be any age (over 18), and do not have to be seniors themselves. Although many volunteers are also members.

International Education and Civic Engagement Organization, Inc. (IECEO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving students, immigrants, newcomers, and families in Montgomery County. This virtual volunteer opportunity allows students to support educational and community programs through online service.

Winter Growth is a Medical Adult Day Program and Assisted Living facility that has been proudly serving the Olney and Columbia communities for over 45 years. Its mission is to foster a supportive and vibrant community where seniors and adults with disabilities can continue to learn, grow, and live with purpose and joy.

We are currently seeking new members to join our Board of Directors. Above all, we’re looking for individuals who believe in our mission and are passionate about making a difference. We are especially in need of expertise in the following areas:

Finance (ability to review and understand budgets and financial projections) 

Business development

Marketing

Insurance and/or law

The Board plays an advisory role, offering oversight of the organization’s finances, leadership, and mission alignment. It meets six times per year, and each board member serves on at least one committee: Executive, Finance, or Board Development. Our board is a collaborative, committed, and collegial group—and we’d love to add new voices to the table.

If you're interested in learning more, we invite you to begin with an informal conversation with a current board member—perhaps over lunch—followed by a tour of one of our facilities. From there, we can explore the possibility of board membership together.

Vines and bushes are killing our native trees and plants. Volunteers will use clippers, saws and other hand tools to remove the invasive plants and free the trees. Participants have told us that they can hear the trees thanking them. It's an opportunity to be outside and make a difference for the environment. The activity is open to everyone. Training is on site.

Birthday Cakes 4 Free Maryland (BC4F) is a nonprofit organization that collects and delivers birthday cakes to financially and socially disadvantaged children and seniors. We are an entirely student run organization!

Anyone can become a volunteer! There is no minimum age requirement. This is a great way to start earning SSL hours in middle school. 

Students bake cakes in their homes. Cakes must meet the container guidelines which are outlined on www.bc4f.org under Volunteer/FAQ. The decoration/flavor/design of your cake(s) is up to you but we would prefer if you could write “Happy Birthday!” on your cake(s). You can make a cake from a cake mix or your favorite recipe. Round, square or rectangle cakes are all okay as long as they are individually and securely boxed, with lids taped for transport. Round cakes must have multiple layers. Single layer 9" round cakes will not earn SSL hours. We also accept cupcakes. Twenty-four cupcakes are equivalent to one cake. Cake requirements are posted on our website.  We DO NOT accept pies or alternative baked goods. ALL decorations MUST be edible. https://www.bc4f.org/faq

How to Sign-Up to Bake Cakes

You must SIGN-UP for our Newsletter in order to receive the Google Form to sign-up to bake cakes. To subscribe, go to https://www.bc4f.org/newsletter. DO NOT USE an MCPS email address as all external emails are blocked. Once a month, you will receive information about delivery dates, delivery address, and delivery times. Currently, we accept cake donations on one Sunday a month. Our current delivery location is in Rockville near Farmland Elementary School. The Google Form is included in the monthly Newsletter so that you can sign-up with the number of cakes you would like to donate. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF CAKES DONATED IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE MORE VOLUNTEERS. The SSL form is provided at the time/date of cake delivery as long as the cake(s) meet donation requirements. SSL hours are awarded as follows:

1 cake (or 24 cupcakes) = 2 total SSL hours

Affordable Homes & Communities (AHC) organizes fun events to bring neighbors together every month. We are looking for volunteers to pass out calendars and newsletters to residents at Country Place, 3900 Blackburn Lane, Burtonsville MD once a month.

Big Learning® is looking for high school students to volunteer in person in our Silver Spring (Wheaton area) office. Big Learning is preapproved to offer SSL hours to students in Montgomery County Public Schools. Opportunities are available every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am to 4pm from June 23rd through August 20th. Interested students may sign up for as many shifts as they like but must sign up for at least two consecutive hours at a time.

If you are interested, please fill out the Student Volunteer Application must receive this form with a parent or guardian signature before you can sign up for hours. Email a scanned copy or photo of the form to sciencevolunteer@biglearning.org. Once we have your completed form, you will be emailed the link to a Sign-Up Genius site where you can sign up for the days and times you would like to volunteer. Big Learning® provides after school programming in foreign language and science & engineering during the school year. Volunteers will help us prepare materials for fall programs by sorting, counting, and bundling materials; cutting paper and other materials to size; organizing materials; and other basic office tasks. Any student who is routinely a no-show or who is not able to consistently count the correct bundle size will be removed from the schedule after 1-2 reminders to exercise greater care.

The Big Learning® office is located in Wheaton, two blocks off the Route 9 bus stop at Arcola and Kemp Mill Road. We are not within an easy walking distance to any food options so we encourage volunteers to bring snacks or lunch if they are planning on being here for several hours. There is a break room in our building.

There is a short flight of stairs to our suite, but we have accessible locations on the ground floor of the building where students with mobility issues will be able to participate. Se habla español.  Le français est parlé.

Hello! The Washington English Center (WEC), a DC-based nonprofit organization, is looking for volunteers to co-teach, substitute teach, or tutor ESOL to adult immigrants and refugees this Summer! WEC serves several hundred adult language learners each term from over 80 different countries.Check out this video featuring students from around the world sharing their thoughts about their teachers.

Join our community of over 400 volunteers to teach online and/or in person in downtown DC! As a WEC volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with diverse cultures, attend free teacher training, and connect with others at in-person and online volunteer socials throughout the term. No prior teaching experience is required! You’ll be paired with a co-teacher and receive ongoing training and support from our staff.

ESOL group classes start July 13th and run through August 19th, 2026. Our one-on-one tutoring sessions happen on a rolling basis and have flexible start and end dates. Please note, if you are interested in co-teaching we ask that you sign up by June 27th to receive a placement or waitlist information on July 1st.

We also have the opportunity to substitute teach, which does not require a once a week 1-3 hour commitment, and provides volunteers with the flexibility to get involved at their own convenience. We are happy to work with your schedule and accept volunteers throughout the year! Volunteers must be 18 years of age and a fluent English speaker to participate. We also welcome non-native English speakers and encourage them to volunteer, in fact, we have many volunteers who are former or are current students teaching at lower levels. At WEC, we value the multilingual skills student-volunteers bring to our classrooms!

Ready to change a life from the comfort of home? 

Join ENGin as a conversation partner and be matched with a learner in Ukraine for weekly one-on-one English conversations. In just one hour a week, you can help someone build confidence, break the language barrier, and feel supported, all while discovering a new culture and making a genuine human connection.

In the middle of August we'll begin another great Coyotes Cross Country season for kids ages 5 to 14 (elementary and middle school kids).  Practice will be every Tuesday and Thursday at Rocky Hill Middle School from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, as well as Sunday afternoons at 2:00 -- somewhere fun -- if we don’t have a meet.  We’ll participate in 6 or 7 local league meets on Sunday afternoons beginning in the middle of September.  Our last regular season meet will likely be early November.  Many of our kids will participate in “post season” which will include a national championship meet in late November or early December.

High school students can earn SSL hours by assisting at practices and/or meets under a lead coach's supervision.  The Junior Coach commitment is super-flexible.  Attend practices/meets as often or as little as you'd like.  We offer a great environment for high school students to both gain coaching experience and serve younger children in the community.  Students will lead warm-up runs, facilitate running drills and stretches, assist with conversational pace runs, and time the kids doing speed workouts.  Are you fast?  You'll likely help with our 13 & 14 year-olds.  Not all that fast?  You'll help with the youngest kids.  Helping kids grow and achieve great things is a very rewarding experience.

What an incredible last couple of seasons we've had. Coyotes Cross Country has been AAU Maryland Team Champions in both boys’ and girls’ divisions, and our 7 & 8 year-old boys were crowned AAU National Champions. We had a team place 3rd at the Cross Country Coaches National Championship in Knoxville, TN, and around 20 of our kids individually placed in the top 25, earning big medals at the national championships. We couldn’t be prouder!

We're so excited to reconnect with many senior centers open for in-person performance now.  YAMS is recruiting volunteers to perform in senior centers around Rockville, Potomac, Silver Spring, and Northern Virginia, etc. If you are interested in sharing your music with seniors, this will be a super exciting experience for you to bring the music and joy to them and also build up your own performance skill.  1-3hr SSL will be issued for each performance at this special period.  Performers will also have chance to get YAMS customized sticker, pin, and t-shirt.
