Founded in 1883 by emancipated people, Prathertown is proud of its deep roots and cultural legacy. We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help organize and catalog our collection of vinyl records, photos, and cassette tapes that capture decades of local history. The location is the Germantown Public Library at 19840 Century Blvd. Germantown, MD 20874. Volunteer Activities: Listen to, sort, and clean historic vinyl records, cassette tapes and 8mm film Catalog artifacts in our database for public access Organize and safely store items using archival-quality materials This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in archiving and historical preservation while contributing to your community! Important Details: Requirements: Volunteers must be detail oriented, enthusiastic, and possess technology skills. Must be proficient in Google Suite or Office 365.
