Volunteer: Free the Trees Capital Crescent Trail @ Dorset AvenueVines and bushes are killing our native trees and plants. Volunteers will use clippers, saws and other hand tools to remove the invasive plants and free the trees. Participants have told us that they can hear the trees thanking them. It's an opportunity to be outside and make a difference for the environment. The activity is open to everyone. Training is on site. We have tools and gloves to lend. Meet at the Capital Crescent Trail where it crosses Dorset Avenue in Chevy Chase, MD 20815. Look for us near at the Trail crossing. There is street parking on Kennedy Drive. In the past year, we have pulled mattresses, shopping carts, tires and lots of just plain old trash out of the creek. Join us in cleaning up Little Falls Parkway and creek between Massachusetts Ave and River Road. Wear your boots to get in the creek, or borrow some from us. Bags, gloves and safety vests provided. This is a great family job or fun for a group.
