Who We Are
Grameen Foundation, founded as Grameen Foundation USA, also known as "GFUSA", is a global 501 non-profit organization based in Washington DC that works to replicate the Grameen Bank microfinance model around the world through a global network of partner microfinance institutions. Its CEO is Steve Hollingworth.
What Volunteers Do
Women in poor rural communities want nothing more than to end poverty and hunger. We unite the power of women with the power of technology to increase women’s access to essential services. And we help to build an environment that supports her breakthrough, whether through strengthening peer networks or developing products designed for her.
Student Volunteers will support our work through volunteering to help with administrative tasks associated with fundraising, including processing mailers and providing administrating support to fundraising campaigns around seasonal fundraising, for example around Mother's Day, International Women's Day, Christmas and New Years. Some student volunteers may also help by developing social media posts - derived from our on-line materials. Because the volunteering is largely office work, it would be accessible to students with differing abilities.
