Who We Are
Empowering the Ages strengthens social-emotional well-being, provides life skills, and creates connections across generations to provide older and younger people with a sense of belonging and purpose.
Specifically -
We work in the Montgomery County area in the critical spaces of school readiness, community empowerment and workforce development through developing mutually beneficial connections between children, youth, families, and older adults.
VISION
Communities where people from all generations contribute to each other’s well-being, feel connected and are valued for their unique skills and perspectives.
What Volunteers Do
We connect older and younger generations in their communities in meaningful and mutually beneficial experiences.
We are searching for older volunteers to connect with MCPS students and their families to increase family-school engagement and better outcomes for students (e.g., less absenteeism, improved socio-emotional skills and improved academic performance).
We are searching for youth to help us create and participate in programs to engage the generations throughout Montgomery County.
